The Glove Book

A book bound inside a vintage glove.

Pages that celebrate the hands of makers and artists.

During this workshop we explore the hand as subject, vessel, and voice. Over a few days, we build a small mixed media book stitched directly into a vintage glove whose pages celebrate what our hands know, remember, and long for.

We work with found materials, ink, thread, and gesture. We make marks and meaning. We gather, layer, and finally bind, letting the book find its own shape from everything our hands have touched across the days.

This is not a technical workshop. It is an invitation to pay attention to our hands as instruments of memory, care, and craft.

Supplies list.

What to bring with you

• A vintage glove — leather, fabric, or lace. If you can’t find one, don’t worry — we will be visiting Lisbon’s Feira da Ladra Flea Market before the workshop
• A variety of found papers, fabric scraps, and ephemera meaningful to you (old book pages, images, documents, vintage music, dress patterns, scraps of cotton, linen, gauze…)
• Some collage materials relating to hands (vintage anatomy prints, palmistry diagrams, vintage photos, illustrations, photocopies of your own hands…)
• Inkpad in black, or a colour of your choice
• A black fineliner pen or dip pen
• A couple of soft brushes
• A sewing kit with embroidery needle and threads in a few colours
• Glue stick or Matte Gel Medium
• Scissors
• An exacto knife or craft knife
• A small cutting mat
• Awl
• A few optional decorative beads for the spine

All other materials will be provided.

• Deposit is: 1050 Euros and is non-refundable upon registration to reserve your spot.
• Early Bird Price is:  3590 Euros per person until July 15th, 2026.
• Regular Price is:  3800 Euros per person begins on July 16th, 2026.
• Full Balance:  is due from everyone by September 30th, 2026.

• *This workshop is not refundable* You may transfer this workshop to another person if you can't attend. If there is a waitlist we will connect you with the next person on the list. Once transferred or sold, your reserved spot will be removed. If we cancel this workshop you will be refunded.

Your deposit secures your place in the workshop and allows us to begin making commitments on your behalf. From the moment you register, we start investing in the planning and preparation of the experience, including venue reservations, instructor commitments, administration, and other organizational expenses.

Because these costs are incurred well in advance and your space is reserved exclusively for you, the deposit is non-refundable.
